The vehicle then crashed into a house and a roadside tree. Bardhan sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Janapriya Hospital in Hassan. Despite efforts to transfer him to a hospital in Bengaluru, he succumbed to his injuries. The driver, Manjegowda, suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment in Hassan.
Bardhan, a native of Dosar village in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district, was traveling to Hassan to take up his role as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in Holenarasipur. His family hails from Bihar, with his father, Akhilesh, serving as a sub-divisional magistrate.
